Production Logistics Coordinator

Location: 3228 Moodie Drive, Ottawa, ON

Our manufacturing team plays a huge role in delivering on KOTT’s promise to get our customers what they need, when they need it. We are looking for a Production Logistics Coordinator for our Truss team in Ottawa.

As the last stop in the pre-production process, your sense of accomplishment will come from helping to produce very important components of people’s homes and having a positive impact on KOTT’s operational efficiency.

Your day-to-day

  • Update production schedules daily, monitoring multiple sources of data to ensure that any new information, design revisions, or date changes are incorporated, and job statuses are up to date
  • Prepare final shop print files for upcoming jobs
  • Optimize production-ready designs for cutting – ensuring that we are minimizing waste
  • Ensure the flow of incoming materials to the shop by monitoring picking levels, and distributing picking assignments to team members as required
  • Liaise with production team members, the design team and the Operations Director as needed to ensure a smooth transition of work from design to production
  • Monthly, review job information stored on the saws to ensure that it is current

What you need to succeed:

Experience

  • Previous experience in a logistics or coordination position is preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is an asset
  • Experience using MS Office is required
  • Experience working in enterprise resource planning systems or customer databases is an asset
  • Knowledge of construction or truss building is an asset

  • Strong administrative and multitasking skills
  • Great verbal and written communications skills
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is an asset
