Entry Level Apprentice Mechanic – 310T

What's the opportunity?
As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks and assisting mechanics in the day-to-day operations and cleanliness of the Garage. This role supports the efficient operation of the maintenance department.
Your regular schedule is Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime hours possible during peak periods.
The wage range for this position is $21.00 – $25.00/hour, based on your skills and experience.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Provide vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs, under the direct supervision of a Licenced Technician.
- Installation of new and added-on equipment
- Conduct first, second and third line repairs, modifications on vehicles
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate
- Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues
- Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies
- Accurate completion of work orders
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
- Assisting in keeping KOTT’s fleet continuously operational by performing necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Performing oil changes on vehicles and equipment.
- Changing and rotating tires, and other tire-related maintenance.
- Washing vehicles to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
- Shuttling vehicles between locations as required.
- Organizing and maintaining the parts room.
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the shop, adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
- Assisting mechanics with other tasks as required.
What you need to succeed:
- Ability to regularly and safely lift 50+ pounds throughout the workday.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
- Basic computer skills to process completed work orders.
- Valid G Driver’s licence, with a clean driving record.
- Working towards a 310T or equivalent Mechanic qualification
- 1- 3 years’ experience in Automotive repairs and maintenance is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
Please note that CSA-approved safety footwear is required – KOTT will provide other PPE.
