Supervisor, Installation (Interior Railings)

Your day-to-day

  • • Assign Installation crews to job sites, based on customer requirements
  • • Supervise and direct the work of Installers & Service employees on customer job sites; monitoring attendance and punctuality, and providing disciplinary measures as required
  • • Perform daily site inspections of finished work, monitoring for quality
  • • Conduct weekly Safety Talks and Workplace Inspections with your crews at job sites
  • • Perform administrative tasks required, i.e. ensure billable extras are invoiced, ensure material discrepancies on site are noted and reported, gather customer completion slips, review subcontractor invoices

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience
    • •  Minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising crews in a construction-related organization
    • •  Finishing Carpentry experience, or experience with finishing wood coatings is a strong asset
    • •  Understanding of interior hardwood railings business for new construction is a strong asset

Operations Director (GTA)

Your day-to-day

  • • Oversee GTA Operations, including production and manufacturing, shipping and logistics, maintenance
  • • Directly supervise a team of Managers and Supervisors, and provide strong leadership, coaching and mentorship to all Operations staff
  • • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators that drive operational efficiency and deliver the highest level of service to our customers
  • • Participate in setting annual budgets and operational goals for KOTT
  • • Set departmental goals for each of your areas of responsibility, and track achievement toward those targets
  • • In conjunction with the Sales Director, monitor the forecast – tailor Operations as needed, in the way that best maintains service levels and ensures responsible expense management
  • • Ensure that Operations fully align with KOTT’s Health & Safety program and policies, and be a champion for our culture of Health & Safety
  • • Develop the most profitable and efficient staffing model for each department in your area of responsibility
  • • Working with your team of Managers and Supervisors, and with support from Human Resources, be accountable for hiring, training, developing, and managing all Operations staff

What you need to succeed:

Experience & Education

  • • You have at least 5 years’ experience working in a Business or Operations management role in a medium-sized company
  • • Experience in the home building, construction or renovation industry is a strong asset
  • • You have a Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Operations Management, or have equivalent work experience

Skills & Qualifications

  • • Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is an asset
  • • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • • Strong general computer skills are required, including a sound knowledge of MS Office products

Floor System Designer

Location: Flexible/Work from home

Experience & Education

  • • Two years’ experience as a Floor System Designer (or designer of other framing components) is preferred

  • • A Civil Engineering Technologist or Architectural Technologist Diploma is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered

Skills & Qualifications

  • • Experience with I-Struct and/or Mitek design software is preferred
  • • Knowledge of I-Joists, LVL, and other Engineered Wood Products

AZ Driver – Short Haul (no overnights!)

Location: Ottawa, ON and Carp, ON and Stouffville, ON

Your day-to-day
• Oversee the safe loading and strapping of materials

• Be responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle
